Don’t Put God In A Box?

I've heard the phrase, "you can't put God in a box" over and over and over when discussing the truth found in scripture. It's basically the go-to for those whose relationship with God is seemingly beyond the walls of the Bible. It's typically a way to say that God and his Word are somehow separated - and that the Word is often a barricade that God will override in order to do special things in our lives.

The reality is, God put himself in a box. Haha. Literally. In the book of Exodus, God localized his presence in the tabernacle, within the ark of the covenant for the benefit of his sinful people. Not only that, but Jesus, the glory of God veiled in human flesh came to us to ultimately save. Jesus never contradicted the scripture, he affirmed it all and proclaimed that he was the culmination of it. That he was this messiah, told by God in his Word way in advance. This is just another reason we stick to the Word. It's GOD'S WORD TO US! Only God can tell the future and have it come true, and he did so multiple times across the Bible - that's what prophecy is! It confirms that we're dealing with the true mind of God, and it's unique to Christianity.

So, the question is, would God ever contradict his Word because he is somehow bigger than all of that? The answer is that God can do anything he absolutely wants, but NO, he will never contract himself. He made himself clear! “He is not a man that He should change His mind” [1 Samuel 15:29] and "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, yes and forever" [Hebrews 13:8] and many many more. The point is, a wrong view of God's Word is a wrong view of God, which is a wrong view of self, which is a wrong view of sin, which is a wrong view of salvation, Jesus, and everything else that is vital to this entire thing.

It all hinges on this book that the Holy Spirit brought to us. He won't contradict it, he won't drive a wedge with it and other good things of God, and he wants us closer to it every day. People will try and concoct a notion that Christians who hold fast to God's Word are worshipping it instead of God...yet another attempt to separate the inseparable. Truthfully, no book has ever had as much opposition as the Bible. Throughout a long history, people have laughed at it, hated it, burned it, ridiculed it, and even made laws against it. But the Word of God has undoubtedly survived...(the Bible is still the best-selling book of all time with over 5 billion copies sold and distributed) And it is applicable today as much as it was yesterday and will be tomorrow.
